I created this work with a Native American story in mind, that the red berry is a chance to turn away from wrongdoing. Only the Raven was created to be able to transport a Red Berry that grows on a tree in the Spirit Realm, bringing it into the human world to offer to a person who is doing wrong against fellow humans. Accepting the Red Berry signifies one last chance to change from darkness back to light, before the soul is totally enveloped into the darkness of evil deeds and intentions of the heart.
